International demand for pop-up mailers and interactive marketing products has grown so much in the last 12 months that we have opened a dedicated export department and launched several websites dedicated to overseas sales. Website visitor figures and sample requested for the first quarter in 2009 are up by a fantastic 274% on the same period in 2008. International internet visitors from 165 different countries now make up an incredible 49% of all visitors, which is an amazing statistic for domain names that are hosted in the UK and that have a .co.uk ending.

Visitors from the USA and Canada form the largest part of our international fan base accounting for almost 25% of all site visits. Europe is in second place and between the two nations they bring the total for the North American continent to almost 45% of visitors to our promotional pop-ups websites.

In order to service our overseas market properly we have developed a website that is designed specifically for export – whitneywoods.com – with lots of sub-divisions aimed at specific countries and languages. We have devised a new sample pack format and for the first time in our 17-year history, we are actively encouraging enquiries from international businesses. Whilst the export promotion is in its infancy, we are pleased to announce that we have already fulfilled orders to companies in the USA, Australia and to several European nations.

It makes sense to put extra effort into trying to build ties with those countries which send most traffic to our websites and our research shows us that the top 6 countries are the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Ireland. In order to generate better links with these countries we have created sub-folders in our whitneywoods.com site and each folder is targeted towards the relevant country through Google Webmaster Tools. Each dedicated sub folder is designed to help would-be visitors to our websites to find us more easily.
