Great news for professional marketers. Whitney Woods has given its Pop Up Mailers website a totally new look with improved navigation and new search categories to help you find excatly what you want when looking for marketing ideas.
It has taken months to re-write, photograph and video but it has been worth the effort. Of special interest to professionals looking for marketing ideas is the Marketing Products category which highlights product selections which are particularly relevant to individual facets of marketing. There are new product showcases for ambient media, experiential marketing, guerrilla marketing and relationship marketing which are supplemented by a direct marketing selection which has always been a feature of the Pop up Mailers website.
To be honest, we hadn’t given much thought to actually recommending products for specific genres of marketing until we were talking about guerrilla marketing one day and saying just how well-suited printed pocket media is to street team marketing. That made us think that it would be a good idea to share the knowledge and add it to our “marketing ideas” web page. To follow up with ideas for experiential marketing was a natural progression as was the idea to suggest Quality Card Carriers for use in relationship marketing or CRM loyalty schemes. Suggestions for the ambient media section were not as easily forthcoming but that is the nature of the beast - but we have done our best and I particularly like ideas for door hangers. I think there is plenty of potential for some fun advertising opportunities.
We have also mage a feature of how our interactive marketing products move. This, too, could help you to find exactly what you need when looking for marketing ideas. The Cool Movers section shows products that grow, pictures that change, products that turn and others that jump!
We hope that you like the changes and maybe you could let us know what you think by adding a comment to this particular blog.

We look forward to hearing your opinions on the new pop-up and interactive products that we have launched on the Pop-up Crafts website. As products such as pop-up cubes, wobbly bits, pop-up pyramids and push’n’pulls are new to cardmaking, scrapbooking and paper crafts fans we are very keen to know how you have decorated them and what sort of occasions you have used them for.
We are totally new to the cardmaking and scrapbooking marketplace and as such we need to be guided by experienced cardmaking and scrapbooking crafters such as you. Your suggestions on how to improve products or services will be gratefully received and if you have any ideas for anything new that you might want us to include then that would be good, too.
Our aim has been to try to bring you some new stuff – products that we use that may not ordinarily be associated with paper and card crafts. However, crafters have such rich imaginations that we feel sure that there will be some new and innovative ideas that put accessories such as bead chains and strip magnets to very good use. Your ideas and suggestions will, once again, be very gratefully received.
Gail will be placing items on the forum that show how to make certain items, though, in fairness, there are so many magazines on the market that it seems virtually impossible that there could be any new ideas so we will be sticking with what we know best – pop-ups!
So, please sign up and start to submit your ideas and comments. We look forward to hearing from you.

In the course of going about our main business of manufacturing pop-ups and interactive promotional products we have to use many different types of self adhesive products. It is these self adhesive products that we are able to offer you as craft supplies. We use different widths of double-sided adhesive tape more than anything else and whilst these are readily available from most good stockists of craft supplies, maybe they cannot offer the variety or widths that we have here.
Similarly, not everyone carries CD studs but we have them which will allow you to send your photos on CD mounted on a card creation to your special friends. Everyone carries double-sided adhesive foam pads but what about single sided pads? We use them in affixing springs to Wobbly Bits. Then there are low-tack peelable glue dots and low tack perforated stickers for creating temporary seals. Each product could open up new creative ideas.

These are other by-products of our main business. We have to use cut pieces of string and elastic for making up price tags and swing tickets for retail outlets. We use longer pieces of elastic for making up face masks and we use treasury tags as a way to make handles on products such as pop-up handbags and pop-up lanterns for commercial business-to business promotions.
With a bit of luck, that information might have given you a couple of creative ideas that you hadn’t previously considered. However, we realise that you aren’t going to make thousands of masks or thousands of handbags and lanterns so we offer these items to you in packs of small quantities at a low price.
As for cut pieces of string – well who knows why you might use them but if we don’t put them on offer we will never know!
In our main business of manufacturing automatic pop-up products for business-to-business promotions we use thousands of rubber bands each week and that’s why we are able to offer you the chance to buy rubber bands at an attractive price. However, we can supply the bands only by weight as they come to us via our importer in bags weighing 1lb – just under 0.5 kilos. The sizes range from No 32s which stretch from 80mm to 160mm in length down to No 28s which stretch form 40mm to 80mm in length.

Card Blanks, Showcards and Struts are available in packs of individual sizes or assorted packs. Each card is made in either 350gsm silk art board, which is acid free and lignin free, or in 500micron box board for rigidity and the packs are presented in poly bags.
Whilst we realise that you can buy blank cards from more or less any good quality crafts products stockist we are not aware of anyone who is selling the new option of showcards which stand up with the aid of a support strut at the back. We think that this is a neat alternative to a standard card and the struts can be brought into play with many of your other card creations such as picture frames. You can obviously make the frames yourselves but the struts are awkward to cut by hand so we offer them in separate packs on this page. You can buy them with double-sided tape already in place or as blanks for you to apply your own choice of adhesive.
As we have repeatedly stated, it is not our intention to stock thousands of items to be able to compete with the major paper crafts sites. However, if we have any product that we use in our core business of producing pop-ups and interactive products for business-to-business promotions, then we will offer these products to you at an attractive price.
We don’t have much call for the beautiful, delicate embellishments that we see on the shelves at stores such as Hobbycraft but we do make cards with Jiggle Eyes or Wiggle Eyes from time to time so that’s all that we can offer to you in this section. We stock only one size and that is 18mm diameter. The jiggle eyes have a plain, flat back; they do not have self adhesive backing so you will need to select your own method of adhesion for affixing these to your card creations.
