If you have read my blogs before you will know that I love the credit card sized pocket guides for tourism attractions, venues and stadiums, theatres and sports arenas so I am delighted to tell you that there are more pocket friendly products added to the range in A7 size – more print area, opportunities for sponsorship – and best of all they still fit into a pocket and will be kept for a future occasion.
The Foldilocks is Perfect for Loyalty Rewards
This product in A7 size is a compact and easy to use information booklet that folds in on itself, rather like a concertina style. There is a locking tab which protects it from any damage. The beauty about this product is that you can offer loyalty vouchers and special offer discount coupons since each page is perforated for easy tearing off if required. The Foldilocks is a perfect pocket friendly product.
The Little Big Card and Carry and Keep for Sponsorship Opportunities
Both The Little Big Card and the Carry and Keep Cards have tough outer covers which house folded A3 size sheets with advertising opportunities. They work well is used to print a map on one side with places of interest for your visitors or audience and on the other side local restaurants, retailers and services can pay to advertise. This works well for local government offices where the tourism guides need to be self-funding these days.
The Double Starburst Shines through
For a product with a difference the A7 Double Starburst is simply delightful. It opens up with a flourish to reveal two uniquely folded areas where you can print maps, venue plans, photographs – in fact the list is endless for design possibilities. Once again the product slides easily into your pocket and will be retained for a future visit. Another advantage to these A7 sized Carry and Keep items is that they will be share with others which extends your marketing wider too.

In the run up to the Royal Wedding and the world-wide media frenzy associated with it I couldn’t help think how we can sometimes lose focus. The Wedding is on Friday 29th April and is a cause for celebration and yet in every newspaper at weekend and on every TV channel there was too much old footage and guessing about what will the dress be like? Who will be there? Why shouldn’t we wait until Friday for the answers……this is exactly why when advertising your company and services you need to get straight to the point, focus on Open, read and Respond. A long double sided A4 boring flat letter is simply not going to get read - you need creative ideas that get your message across instantly and will be remembered and referred to again and again.
Surprise your Customers with the Sideshooter
The Sideshooter is a product that is extremely tactile and will capture attention as soon as received. As soon as the product is taken from the envelope it almost triples in size, both arms shooting out from the main body simultaneously. It is an absolute delight for your customer to receive and will be shown to others which also adds greatly to your advertising profile. The Sideshooter is perfect for advertising growth and extension of product ranges or extra offices.
Push your Promotions with the Push ‘n’ Pull
Push your promotions with the Push ‘n’ Pull and it will pull your customers in. This is another product absolutely perfect for attention-grabbing and generating response. Your customer will be really impressed when as they pull a tab at one end the other end protrudes to reveal the full message. It almost triples in size and has plenty of room for your advertising message.
Go the Distance with the Telescopic Box
This product is riding high with customers who have demanded an item that can contain important information but also be amusing and novel with lots of room for print. The Telescopic Box is a boon and is working extremely well in lots of current advertising promotions. The Telescopic Box is being used as an announcement card for a company re-locating to bigger premises and a trade show giveaway for a company who have placed their call to action in the box itself and information and details about the company on the extended box. Feedback from both projects has been phenomenal.

This week in the UK we have a Royal Wedding and already there are streets decked with red, white and blue bunting to celebrate the occasion. Street Parties are booked and celebrations are bountiful. Join in with the 2011 jubilations with your own Creative Direct Mail Items that will make you stand out amongst the crowd and generate high response rates.
King of the Castle Pop-Up
Automatic pop-up products are superb for direct mailing campaigns, arriving in a custom mailer they stand out amongst the rest of the post ensuring that they are opened and not ignored. As soon as the mailer is opened the pop-ups leap out and your customer is so surprised that it always evokes a smile and laughter and your company becomes the focus of the recipient and their colleagues, not just at that moment but for a long time afterwards too. Since we are soon to be celebrating a Royal Wedding I thought about one of my favourites, the Pop-up Castle which is a novel shape to send, very striking and signifying strength and longevity. This product is working well at present for Insurance Company - promoting home insurance with the phrase “An Englishman’s home is his Castle”
Jumpinjax – Startling Qualities for Direct Mail
Another of my ultimate favourites is the Jumpinjax, in this case four small pop-ups erupt from a slide out tray with a little noise as well and since your customer does not expect this and is thoroughly surprised and finds it a very amusing product. Sent as direct mail this really will get you noticed and recognised for your dynamic form of mailing. There is plenty of room for print on the outer box and the two information cards within the tray and the four small pop-up cubes can even carry a short message. Recently the Jumpinjax has been used to portray Earth, Wind, Water and Fire for a media company with a zodiac associated name as a Direct Mail piece and is also being used as a Wedding Invitation with a difference for a High Society Wedding in August 2011.
Pop-up Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend
The Pop-up Diamond is another product that I like because it is so elegant and very original indeed. This product is simply ideal for an attention-grabbing direct mail piece; it is one of a range of Pop-up Gems and always creates a talking point. This pop-up can also be sent as an Invitation to a Corporate Event or a Trade Show, and whilst I realise we are a long way from Christmas at present, it works extremely well as an alternative festive greeting and by simply adding a metallic string loop it can be sent as a hanging tree ornament. You can have lots of fun with this product and it will definitely generate higher response rates.

When announcing a new business or moving premises you need to make sure you use creative and eye-catching products. Simply sending a letter will not make the grade and it is a great idea to send something which will market your company as well. At this Easter time, a time for funfairs and spring sunshine why not spring clean your thoughts on marketing ideas? Come to the fair with me now for some inventive products.
Hook a Duck – Always a Winner
The Bobbing Duck Card is a most unusual card for announcements and advertising; this very novel card is very interactive and captures your customers’ attention immediately. The action of the duck bobbing on the water is created by turning a wheel at the side and not only will your customer enjoy playing with it and digest your message but all their colleagues will be hooked on the duck also. This extends your marketing exposure time greatly. A boring flat letter may not even reach the intended target but with a creative Bobbing Duck Card you know you are onto a winner.
Picture Dissolve Hall of Mirrors
The Dissolving Pictures are a family of creative designs that are very tactile for your customer and very glamorous. These are available in different sizes and designs with one or two changing pictures; each having their own individual and charming qualities. I always enjoyed the Hall of Mirrors, seeing pictures of myself in different ways and the Picture Dissolvers will amuse your customers equally as well. Once again your announcement and marketing communication will not be ignored and will undoubtedly be shared with others again and again.
Capture your Customers on the Hoop-la
Make sure your customers throw their ring around your company and your services by sending a Starburst Product. Available from as small as credit sized up to A4 the Starburst Fold designs are almost theatrical and open up with a flourish that will have your customers’ focus and attention in an instant. Announcing a new business or sending a communication with a starburst is a marketing tip that will be a winning formula. Don’t leave your advertising and marketing to lady luck – try some striking marketing ideas.

It is Easter Saturday this weekend and also St Georges Day – two in one for those of us in England. Easter is such a colourful time of year, daffodils in abundance and the ever-tempting chocolate eggs in all the shops, most of which seem to have buy one get one free offers on to encourage extra sales. This can work with Direct Mail Campaigns too – send a Pop-up Pen Holder or a Money Box as a Direct Mail Piece - two in one:
Give your Customers a Gift for their Desk
Keeping one step ahead of your competitors is hard enough these days; to guarantee that your direct mail will get to your target audience, be opened and read you need something very dynamic and unusual. The Pop-up Ball is an all-round product that will do exactly this for you. The product is sent with your custom print in an individual custom mailer that will stand out amongst the boring flat brown and white envelopes. That’s the first hurdle covered, it will be opened and not trashed -and when the pop-up ball dances out with energy your customers’ attention is captured and shared with others. Sending with pen holes will further enhance your advertising campaign since the product will take pride of place on their desk for a very long time.
Push up Your Promotions with the Push -Up Pen Pal
The Push-Up Pen Pal is “exactly what it says on the tin”; it arrives flat and your customer simply uses one easy action to push the pen pal into shape. The Push-Up Pen pal will definitely become your customer’s friend as it sits on their desk for a very long time. This is “Two in One” at its very best and with a terrific choice of sizes and designs available.
Pop-up Cuboid – Perfect Money Box Shape
This product is a superstar when sent as a money box; the traditional cuboid shape is perfect for sending as a direct mail piece with the added novelty value of a coin slot. These products can be sent with a serious message and have been successful in recent “No Smoking” Campaigns and for Charitable Organisations. However they are gaining a reputation for bringing humour into an office, sent with your custom print but with a cheeky little side-line – a “fines” box. The choice of fine is up to you, although you may like an idea that worked really well for a recent campaign where a few choices were given and your customer chose which box to tick on the Pop-up Cuboid money box themselves.
